In the immediate aftermath of a disappointing Super Bowl loss, one of the New England Patriots’ biggest stars took stock of his future and wasn’t certain that he’d be playing in September.

Maybe he’ll feel better in a few days, but, for now, Rob Gronkowski says he is going to “see where I’m at” after a few weeks.

“I don’t know how you heard that,” he told reporters when asked about his future, “but I mean, I’m definitely going to look at my future, for sure. I’m going to sit down in the next couple weeks and see where I’m at.”

He’s only 28, but Gronkowski has had a number of injuries since entering the league in 2010, including three back surgeries, forearm surgery and an anterior cruciate ligament injury. He suffered a concussion early in the AFC championship game and wasn’t cleared for the Super Bowl until the middle of last week.

“I’m not ready for these types of questions right now. I’m just going to sit down, reflect on the season, talk to my teammates,” Gronk said. “We fought all year long. All the receivers, running backs, linemen, I mean we put all the work in together. I’m just going to reflect on the season, probably with the boys, and see what happens from there.”

Gronkowski, who is under contract through the 2019 season, caught nine passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns in the 41-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Over 14 regular-season games, he caught 69 passes for 1,084 yards and eight touchdowns.
