“Brocktober” continued Saturday, with a big helping hand from Biddeford firefighters.

Brock Chadwick is 7 years old and is battling a rare form of brain cancer. His mother started a campaign to help her son celebrate Halloween in style, asking the community to send cards to their Biddeford home.

Brocktober was born, and Saturday morning, Biddeford firefighters brought their fire trucks and decorations, giving Brock’s home a truly Halloween feel.

The response has surprised the family. Cards have arrived from across the country.

“I hope that people take it upon themselves to do little events like this,” Craig Wilcox, who organized the Saturday decorating, said. “We need more of this rather than looking at the negative things that are in the news or anywhere else in life. You just take a little bit of time and help out with your community or people around you.”

If you want to send Brock a gift or card, please mail them to 11 McKenney Drive, Biddeford, ME 04005.
