BATH, Maine — Police and drug agents arrested two Bath men at their apartment Wednesday evening and charged both with trafficking in heroin.

Billyjack Curtis, 41, and William Anderson, 33, remained at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset on Thursday afternoon, each held on $1,000 cash bail for the Class B felonies.

Officers from the Bath Police Department, Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office and Maine Drug Enforcement Agency served a search warrant about 5 p.m. Wednesday at 19 Oak St., Apt. 2, according to a Bath Police Department release.

As MDEA agents and officers approached, Anderson allegedly attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended.

Agents seized a small amount of heroin, packaging material, a digital scale and evidence of heroin use and trafficking, according to the release.

Curtis also was held on a probation violation stemming from a previous burglary conviction, police said.

The arrests resulted from a lengthy, collaborative investigation among the three agencies.

The two men were scheduled for arraignment on Friday afternoon, according to a jail official.
