WESTBROOK, Maine — Last week, a Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Westbrook police investigation took 35 grams of crack cocaine, 11 grams of heroin, an illegal firearm and $4,000 cash out of circulation, according to a Sunday news release.

The investigation launched when Westbrook Police went to a Westbrook motel early on the morning of Nov. 23 to check on bail violations reportedly committed by Kortney Cox, 35. Inside, police found Deshaun Davis, 36, and Tod Rasberry, 33, both from the Brooklyn, New York, area.

“In the course of the investigation, [with] which motel staff was cooperative, Maine drug enforcement agents and Portland and Westbrook police canine teams were called in,” Westbrook police Chief Janine Roberts wrote in the release.

Davis was charged with aggravated drug trafficking, three counts of Class B drug trafficking and trafficking in prison contraband. Rasberry is charged with two counts of aggravated forgery.

Cox received criminal summonses for violating conditions of her bail, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs and operating a vehicle without a license.

Police officials waited a week to release information about the bust because the investigation continued throughout last week, according to the release.
