AUBURN, Maine — An Auburn man told the Sun Journal he found a sewing needle placed “expertly” down the center of a Snickers bar in his childrens’ Halloween haul.
Jason Levesque told the Sun Journal he dumped out the entire load of candy his three children, ages 6, 8 and 16, had brought home after his oldest found the needle.
Levesque said his family had been trick-or-treating on Fairview Avenue and Amberly Way in Auburn and told the newspaper he was “flabbergasted” at such a thing happening in a good city and neighborhood. “Regardless of the neighborhood, you just can’t know.”
Levesque said he would be filing a police report. Auburn police told the Sun Journal they hadn’t had any reports of tampered candy.
