BINGHAM, Maine — A man held up a Camden National Bank on Main Street with a hammer Friday morning, according to police.
The robbery was reported shortly after 11 a.m., according to Chief Deputy Dale Lancaster of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.
The robber, a 6-foot, heavyset male, was wearing a black ski mask, gray sweatshirt and was armed with a hammer, Lancaster said.
The suspect walked into the bank, demanded cash and escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, Lancaster said. No injuries were reported.
Deputies performed a canine track but it was determined the robber left the scene in a vehicle, and a description of the getaway car was not available.
Anyone with information on the robbery should call the sheriff’s office at 474-9591, or the tip line at 474-0230. Detective Michael Ross is investigating the case.
