MILLINOCKET, Maine — Democrats in the Katahdin region will caucus next weekend at the town office and elect delegates to the state Democratic Party Convention, party representatives said Monday.
Registered Democratic Party members from East Millinocket, Medway and Millinocket will hold separate caucus meetings at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, said Rep. Herbert Clark, D-East Millinocket, chairman of the Millinocket Democratic Committee.
The purpose of the meeting is to elect committee officers and ballot clerks for the Democratic Party in the three towns as well as to elect delegates and alternates for the Maine State Democratic Party Convention being held June 1-3, Clark said.
Penobscot County Democratic Committee members also will be elected, Clark said.
Clark, former Maine Senate President Charles Pray, former state Rep. Joe Clark, D-Millinocket, and former District 3 state Sen. Stephen Stanley will be among the guest speakers.
Clark urged all Democrats from the three towns to attend the meeting. Anyone interested in joining the Democratic Party in those areas should come to the meeting at 12:30 p.m., as a voter registrar will be there from each town to update the party listings.

I wonder how they feel about Obama….?
More importantly, I wonder how they feel about the Republican caucus debacle? Or, how they feel about the player’s involved: Webster, Raye et. al.
By the looks of it, I bet they are going to be wondering just whom the President will be running against!
More interesting, how will they defend Obama against any of them,,,, except for Romney of course
I’m afraid my friend, that it’s not going to be the President that needs defending. Romney is now campaigning in Michigan saying that he is a native son, now…..what’s he going to do with Mass. when the democrats explain how he deserted them? I wouldn’t be so sure that Romney is going to be the candidate, but I do know one thing. Democrats would never SO botch up a statewide caucus!
You and I both know that it is not D’s and R’s that elect Presidents, it is the unenrolled voter’s, who only vote during a Presidential election. It is now Februrary, and the Republican’s have no clear, concise front runner. And it’s gonna be difficult to beat a guy who got Bin Laden. He made the call, despite being advised not to, he did something that Geo. Jr., never even got near of doing
your right, its still too early to call
“…he did something that Geo. Jr., never even got near of doing.”
Are you sure about that? Do you know something we all don’t? So you are voting for Obama simply because he made the call to kill Bin Laden? How has that put food on your table or made your job anymore secure? Did that lower the price of heating oil and gas? How about unemployment? Obama has nothing to stand on when it comes to domestic issues.
They are democrats… they have no feelings, or brains!
No-
I know a lot of them, I respect them and a majority of them want Obama out, but replace him with whom…?
If its Romney va Obama this time around, I think you will find a lot of Republicans, Democrats and others that just might not vote….
