West Madison team expresses thanks

To the city of Bangor;

The coaches, players, parents and West Madison Little League community want to thank the city of Bangor and all volunteers and staff who worked at the 2009 Senior League World Series at Mansfield Stadium; you made our stay an unforgettable experience. The going-out-of-your-way red carpet treatment will be one we will not soon forget.

We especially want to thank the tournament director, Mike Brooker, who went out of his way, not just for us, but for every team at the World Series, what a class act. All of his staff, from the friendly grounds keepers, stadium personnel, Job Corps volunteers who fed us each day, to the ball boys, trainer, and the boys who worked the dugouts, our WMLL hats go off to you.

We also want to thank the staff at the Bangor Daily News who worked the World Series. The sportswriters and photographers treated us with professionalism and made our boys feel like it was the big leagues. Thanks again for the politeness and special treatment you gave each of us.

Last, we want to give a thumbs up to the Holiday Inn, who put up with us and all the other teams, the bus drivers who carted us back and forth and all the restaurant personnel who waited on our families and friends.

Thank you Bangor, Wisconsin and Madison will not forget your community effort to make our trip a great Little League World Series experience.
