FORT FAIRFIELD – Mrs. Ruth A. Wilson, 98, wife of the late Hood B. Wilson, passed away Friday morning, Oct. 31, 2008, at a Presque Isle nursing facility after an extended illness. She was born Jan. 21, 1910, in Fort Fairfield, daughter of Ervin and Viola (Dean) Johnston. Ruth attended Fort Fairfield and Presque Isle schools, and was married to Hood B. Wilson in 1930. In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Hood, Jan. 30, 1971; seven brothers, Chester, Sherman, Loomis, Ervin, Wilson, Milton and Arthur Johnston; five sisters, Isabel Cloney, Martha Darkis, Beatrice Craig, Edna Walton and Millicent McIntyre; and one granddaughter, Michelle Linville. She is survived by two sons, Eugene Wilson and his wife, Mary, of Fort Fairfield and Arnold L. Wilson of West Haven, Conn.; two daughters, Reta Brouillet and her husband, Clarence, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Phyllis Linville and her husband, James, of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; six grandchildren, Bruce Wilson of Bangor, Sally Wilson of York, Sandra Longver of Franklin, N.Y., Steven Furlong of Manchester, N.H., Beth Parentice of Chester Springs, Pa., and James Linville of Florida; three great-grandchildren, Rafe and Sabrina Longver, and Devin Parentice; numerous nieces and nephews, including a very special niece, Mildred Jalbert and her husband, the Rev. Clark Jalbert. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, with the Rev. Clark Jalbert officiating. Interment will be held after the service at Union Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held at VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield, immediately after the interment service.
