STONINGTON – Roger R. Nevells Sr., 63, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at a Deer Isle healthcare facility. He was born April 8, 1940, in Stonington, the son of Harry and Hazel B. (Gray) Nevells. Roger worked in Stonington fishing and he also worked in the granite quarry. He is survived by two children, Jeanette Cassidy and her companion, David Brophy, of Stonington, and Troy Nevells and his companion, Bonnie Wood, of Stonington; two grandchildren, David Cassidy Jr. and Mark Brophy; two brothers, Eddie Nevells and his wife, Gloria, of Deer Isle, and Charlie Nevells and his wife, Donna, of Stonington; a sister-in-law, Norma Nevells of Connecticut; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Roger was predeceased by his wife, Patricia (Robbins) Nevells; a son, Roger R. Nevells Jr.; two brothers, Maynard and Berland Nevells; a sister, Georgia F. Barter; and an infant sister, Georgia. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the beginning of the funeral services at 11 a.m. at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Main St., Stonington, with Richard Spencer officiating. Spring interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Oceanville.
