STOCKTON SPRINGS – Charlotte M. Bowden, 73, of Stockton Springs, passed away on Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at a local hospital. She was born on Jan. 1, 1931, in Keene, N.H., the daughter of William and Emerald (Thomas) Carbonell. Charlotte lived most of her life in Stockton Springs. She enjoyed crafts including knitting and crocheting, and was a volunteer at the North Orrington Elementary School Library. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Heidi Bowden. Charlotte is survived by her husband of 53 years, Earl Bowden of Stockton Springs; five children, Kathleen Walker of Concord, N.H., Brian Bowden of Swanville, Maxine Engstrom of Stockton Springs, Barbara Rozelle of Kenduskeag, and Luann Chasson of Levant; two brothers, William and Albert Carbonell; and five grandchildren. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Mount Prospect Cemetery, Stockton Springs. Arrangements are under the care of the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
