Belfast senior Kylie Nelson, who owns the school record for career goals with 90, is one of three finalists for the 2016 Miss Maine Field Hockey award.

The other two finalists are Lisbon senior forward Chase Collier and York senior midfielder Lily Posternak.

The winner will be announced Dec. 4 at the Maine Field Hockey Association banquet at the Augusta Civic Center.

Nelson also has dished out 37 career assists in addition to finding the back of the cage 90 times.

The four-year varsity player has registered 31 goals and 11 assists so far this fall.

Nelson was named Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 2015, in addition to making the Maine Field Hockey Association all-state squad, and was a second-team, all-conference selection in 2014.

Collier has scored 36 goals and handed out 20 assists, including 15 & 9 in 2016 for Lisbon.

The 2015 all-state selection was chosen as the Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year this fall, adding to her first-team (2015) and second-team (2014) conference laurels.

Posternak holds York’s all-time career mark for goals scored with 77 and for assists with 50.

She has been selected to the Western Maine Conference first team three times (2013, 2014, 2015) and earned all-state honors in those seasons.

In addition, Posternak was selected to the USFHA U-19 national team this year, along with the organization’s Junior Olympic squad in 2013 and 2014, and the Junior National Team in 2014.

Posternak also was named the state’s female athlete of the year by the Portland Press Herald in 2015. The newspaper also selected her as the state’s top field hockey player in 2014 and 2015.
