Rockland, Lucerne courses to open
The Lucerne Golf Club is open for the season, while the Rockland Golf Club will open on Sunday.
Lucerne is featuring a $10 greens fee for walkers throughout April.
Rockland is set to open Sunday at 8 a.m. with the front 9 in play for walking only. The back 9 will open as weather permits. Carts are expected to be available soon.

NBA considers extending season by a week
The NBA is considering extending the season by a week in 2015-16 to alleviate the number of back-to-back games teams must play, commissioner Adam Silver said Friday at the Board of Governors meeting in New York.
Silver said the league should be able to reduce the number of back-to-back sets next year to 16 per team, which would be the lowest ever.
Abdul-Jabbar undergoes quadruple bypass
Legendary NBA center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is expected to make a full recovery after undergoing quadruple coronary bypass surgery Thursday.
UCLA Health issued a statement Friday at the request of Abdul-Jabbar, 68, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer and member of the Basketball Hall of Fame.
Out of rehab, Manziel issues apology
Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel issued a statement Friday, apologizing to the organization and fans, after spending 10 weeks at a rehab treatment facility.
The Browns and others had become increasingly concerned about his partying and apparent denial. He was released last Saturday.
