Rockland Republican re-enters Maine House race

By Stephen Betts, BDN Staff

ROCKLAND, Maine — Republican James Kalloch is back in the race for the Maine House seat that represents Rockland and Owls Head.

Kalloch had filed papers to run but then withdrew from the race on June 19, explaining that he didn’t think he would have time to devote to the campaign. But last week he filed papers to withdraw his withdrawal from the House District 93 seat race.

Kalloch operates Penobscot Ferry and Transport.

The deadline for political parties to have someone on the ballot for Nov. 4 was Monday, July 28.

Kalloch will face off in November against Democratic Rep. Elizabeth Dickerson of Rockland. Dickerson is a city councilor and said last week she would not seek re-election to the council.
