Police arrest Dexter woman after allegedly finding methadone pills during traffic stop

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

DEXTER, Maine — A Dexter woman was arrested late Sunday evening after drugs were found in her vehicle during a traffic stop, police said.

Dexter officers had received a tip that Michelle Myers, 54, was heading north from Newport and may have had contraband in her vehicle, according to Dexter police Chief Kevin Wintle.

Around 11:15 p.m., officers spotted Myers’ vehicle heading north on Route 7 and conducted a traffic stop, Wintle said.

It wasn’t long before police found methadone pills in the car, Wintle said.

Myers was placed under arrest and taken to Penobscot County Jail and charged with possession of Schedule W drugs. She remained in county lockup Monday.
