WATERVILLE, Maine — Two men were arrested early Wednesday afternoon after an alleged theft of a computer from Walmart, police said.

Jacob York, 22, of Winslow and Bradley Dickey, 28, of Waterville are both accused of Class C felony theft because both have prior convictions, Waterville Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey said.

The men allegedly stole an HP Pavillion computer valued at $450 from Walmart and subsequently took off running, Rumsey said.

Three witnesses were in hot pursuit, the deputy chief said, and one of them was able to detain York but Dickey managed to flee into nearby woods, but police quickly nabbed him.

York was also charged with violation of bail conditions and was placed on probation hold, Rumsey said. He remains at the Kennebec County Jail while Dickey was released on bail.

Both men are due in court Nov. 12.
