Assault, drug charges dominate Knox County grand jury indictments

ROCKLAND, Maine — A Knox County grand jury indicted 28 people on 61 charges during a four-day session that concluded Thursday. Drug and assault offenses were among the charges levied against the defendants.

John E. Thibeault, 34, Brewer, was indicted for felony failure to appear at a Sept. 5 hearing on a pending manslaughter charge. Thibeault is accused in the beating death of a Maine State Prison inmate in 2009.

Joshua E. Martel, 36, New Orleans, was indicted for aggravated criminal trespass, assault and criminal mischief for an incident July 6 in Rockland.

Travis W. Carter, 27, Warren, elevated aggravated assault. The indictment alleges he assaulted a man in Warren on April 17 with a bat or flashlight.

Samuel Sanchez, 37, Rockland, aggravated assault for allegedly striking a man with a club, violating a condition of release.

Dusty Michael O’Brien, 30, Maine State Prison in Warren, aggravated assault for allegedly striking a man with a padlock on May 21, 2012.

Leroy Howard Parker Jr., 23, Maine State Prison, aggravated assault for allegedly striking a man with a padlock on May 21, 2012.

John R. Taylor, 20, Maine State Prison, aggravated assault for allegedly striking a man with a padlock on April 9.

Carol Hooper, 71, Appleton, aggravated criminal mischief, assault. The indictment alleges that on Jan. 3, Hooper destroyed property in Appleton, including clothing and a cell phone by setting them on fire. He also was indicted for violating a condition of release for contacting the alleged victim on May 11.

Addam L. Sheets, 26, Camden, sexual abuse of a minor and unlawful sexual contact in March in Camden involving a girl 14 or 15 years old.

Curtis Henry Moody, 45, Warren, promotion of prostitution and four counts of violating a condition of release.

Steven E. Clarke, 49, Owls Head, burglary of a home in Cushing on May 12, aggravated criminal trespass, domestic violence assault, criminal tampering with a witness or informant, violating a condition of release.

Joseph A. Weymouth, 42, Warren, domestic violence assault, obstructing report of a crime, criminal mischief.

Robert R. Demmons Jr., 38, Owls Head, felony theft of more than $10,000 of metal from Steel-Pro Inc. in Thomaston in February 2011.

Daniel R. Roy Jr., 27, Union, felony theft of more than $10,000 of metal from Steel-Pro Inc. in Thomaston in February 2011.

Robert J. Milhomme Sr., 59, Rockland, theft and receiving stolen property of more than $1,000 in weight lifting equipment from a Tenants Harbor woman on Jan. 12.

Christopher Tait, 27, Camden, theft of more than $1,000 in jewelry in November 2012 in Washington.

Stafford Goodman, also known as Smurf, 27, Biddeford, aggravated trafficking in cocaine, and two counts of aggravated trafficking in heroin, all in September in Thomaston.

Lauryn Smith, 20, Biddeford, trafficking in cocaine and two counts of trafficking in heroin in September in Thomaston.

Alicia Santamore, 30, Thomaston, aggravated trafficking in heroin, trafficking in heroin and trafficking in cocaine, violating a condition of release, all in September in Thomaston.

Brian Lee, 25, South Thomaston, aggravated trafficking in cocaine, aggravated trafficking in heroin in September in Thomaston.

Jason E. Kurr, 31, Rockland, trafficking in prison contraband (Suboxone) on April 29 in Rockland, and possession of suboxone on the same day.

Robert E. Woodham Jr., 38, Lewiston, trafficking in prison contraband (Suboxone), possession of drugs.

Harland R. Edwards, 42, Warren, operating after revocation.

Kurt N. Schleicher, 49, St. George, criminal operating under the influence, operating beyond license condition or restriction.

Lucas J. Fisher, 30, Wilton, aggravated operating after habitual offender revocation, criminal OUI.

Christopher C. Robbins, 33, Hope, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, driving to endanger.

Matthew R. Donaher, 28, Camden, tampering with a witness or informant, violating a condition of release.

Robert Sukeforth, 42, Rockland, violating a condition of release.
