Scott W. Stanhope

HAMPDEN – Scott Wayne Stanhope, 54, passed away unexpectedly May 21, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Scott was born Nov. 26, 1958, in Bangor, to Rodney and Geraldine (Frost) Stanhope.
Scott grew up in Hampden and was a graduate of Hampden Academy. Scott worked for many years for Bangor and Brewer Water Districts before working as a self employed carpenter, and most recently for J.M. Brown Construction. Scott was a true outdoorsman and loved what each season brought, be it hunting or fishing. He was an active and faithful member of Ralph J. Pollard Lodge No. 27 AF & AM of Orrington and Anah Shrine, Bangor. Scott will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Scott is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Kellie A. Stanhope of Hampden; his children, Sarah E. Stanhope of Deer Isle and Seth W. Stanhope of Hampden; his parents, Rodney and Geraldine Stanhope of Hampden; brothers, Douglas M. Stanhope and wife, April, and Karlton Stanhope and partner, Lisa Porter, all of Hampden; his mother and father in law, Robert and Sharon Cousins of Hermon; brothers-in-law, Craig Cousins of Hermon, Keith Cousins of Levant and Mark Butterfield of Carmel; a special niece, Brooke Butterfield of Hampden; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Scott was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Kristine Butterfield.
Family and friends are invited to visit 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 24, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a memorial service honoring Scott’s life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25. Memorial contributions may be made in honor of not only Scott, but his best friend, Rollie Phram, to the Rollie Phram Library, care of Secretary, Ralph J.
