MAPLETON – Coleman C. Brown “Dad,” 87, took his last leg of his journey home Wednesday, March 13, 2013. He was born June 18, 1925, in Presque Isle, the son of Coleman and Madeline (Maynard) Brown.

Dad enjoyed flower arranging. It also gave him great joy to create and share his Christmas village with friends and strangers alike. Like the bear, he wanted to see the other side of the mountain. He was always curious about what was around the bend and on down the road. Trucking gave him that fulfillment as well as a chance to meet interesting people, many of whom became friends. The year was never complete without a trip to the Fryeburg Fair. He was a self-appointed ambassador for his beloved Aroostook County. From his “perfect” campsite he passed out potato pins and recipes. He always took two camp chairs along – one for him and one for a friend he had yet to meet.

Dad is survived by his daughter, Carol Flynn and her husband, Brian; daughter, Candy Weymouth and her husband, Terry; granddaughter, Megan Talbot and her husband, Dave, and their family, Emma, Lauren and Maggie; and a grandson, Evan Weymouth and his fiancée, Kayla, and their daughter, Adelynn. He is also survived by his son, Marc Brown and his family; William Drost and his wife, Cintia, and their children, Ethan and Taylor; Julie (Drost) Thibodeau and her husband, Mickey, and their children, Madison, Maranda, Morgan and a great-granddaughter, Olivia. In addition to his parents, dad was predeceased by his wife, Margaret (Lovley) Brown.

Friends may call 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 16, at Presque Isle Wesleyan Church, 387 Centerline Road, Presque Isle, where funeral services will be held noon with Pastor Bernard Brown officiating. There will be a time of remembrance and fellowship after the service at Chapman Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Coleman’s memory to Central Aroostook Humane Society, 26 Cross St., Presque Isle, ME 04769. Online condolences may be expressed at
