WINTERPORT – May I. Pardy, 80, wife of Earl F. Pardy, died March 6, 2013, at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. She was born Sept 1, 1932, in Manchester, N.H., daughter of Harold E. and Irma C. (Roy) Fraser.
May grew up in Manchester, N.H., and was a 1950 graduate of Central High School, Manchester, N.H., after which she attended secretarial school in Boston. May worked most of her life in different secretarial positions in financial services and for the Foreign Service with the federal government which included time spent in Bonn, Germany. She loved to travel with friends especially to some unusual destinations including Qatar, Cuba and the Galapagos Islands, and had a spring trip planned to Jerusalem. She was also a longtime resident of Winterport where she was a communicant of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church for many years. May’s family is grateful for the excellent care she received at St. Joseph Hospital, Bangor, where she had been a volunteer for many years.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 42 years of Winterport are three children, Scott Pardy of Bangor, Alice Arena and husband, Robert, of Weymouth, Mass., and Julia Pesce and husband, William, of Tewksbury, Mass.; six grandchildren, Anthony Pardy and wife, Meghan, of Bangor, Lara Graves and husband, John, of Bangor, Matthew Pardy and wife, Amanda, of Carmel, Jason Lubitz and Amanda of Bangor, Nicholas and Anastasia Arena of Weymouth, Mass.; five great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Jaidyn, Jaxsen, Damian and Malachi; several cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in April at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, Winterport, at a time to be announced. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport. Condolences may also be expressed to the Pardy Family, P.O. Box 242, Winterport, ME 04496.
