FARMINGTON, Maine — The driver of a pulp truck on Wilton Road didn’t see a sedan stopped for the red light between Mt. Blue Drug and Walmart in time and hit it into a ditch Monday.
Charles Bryant, 85, of Jay was traveling east on routes 2 and 4 when he stopped for the light, said Farmington police Officer Stephen Gould.
The driver of a 1988 GMC truck, Paul Warren, 72, of Smithfield, slammed on the brakes, but between not seeing the stopped car in time and the road conditions at 11:22 a.m. Monday, he struck the back of the vehicle, Gould said.
The truck swerved sideways and hit the passenger-side doors of the 2005 Ford Taurus driven by Bryant.
No one was hurt. The Ford was towed from the scene by Northside Auto.
