HOLDEN and SEARSPORT – Michael A. Conlon Sr., 64, died Jan. 1, 2013, at a Bangor hospital after surgical complications. He was born June 11, 1948, in Belfast, the son of John A. Conlon Sr. and Leona (Smith) Conlon Herrick.
Mike was a 1966 graduate of Searsport High School, a 1974 graduate of Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute, and had a master’s degree in human development from the University of Maine. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1968 to 1972. He had also been a friend of Bill W. for almost 33 years and was very active and helpful in the Bangor area. He had worked at several businesses, the latest being the L.L. Bean call center in Bangor.
Michael is survived by his mother, Leona Herrick and companion, Richard Jackson, of Searsport; a son, Michael A. Conlon Jr. and wife, Amy, of Weathersford, Okla.; a daughter, Erinn Conlon of New York; a brother, Jeffrey Conlon and wife, Lurinda, of Cushing; granddaughters, Nycole Conlon and Alixandria Conlon of Smyrna, Del.; nephews, Joshua Conlon and Matthew Conlon, both of Massachusetts and Gabriel Conlon of California; his ex-wife and companion, Meg Conlon Brillant of Holden; and stepsisters, Luanne Drinkwater of Belfast, Jocelyn Thompson of Concord, N.H., and Stacie Christenson of Iowa. Michael was predeceased by his father, John A. Conlon Sr.; stepfather, Foster Herrick; a brother, John Conlon Jr.; daughters, Michelle Conlon Mayhew and MariAnna Conlon; and a grandson, Preston Michael Conlon.
A memorial service celebrating Michael’s life will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden.
