Zella I. MacDonald

HOULTON – Zella I. MacDonald, 100, died Dec. 28, 2012, at a local health care facility. She was born June 12, 1912, in Lindsay, New Brunswick, daughter of Augustus and Beulah (Smith) Wolhaupter.

Zella was a member of Houlton United Methodist Church. She was employed for many years at Lads & Lassies and then at Edith’s Clothing Store. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Zella is survived by her two sons, Harold MacDonald Jr. and Ervin MacDonald, both of Houlton; five grandchildren, Lisa McGowan, Lynn Webber, Allison Gillette, Lee Ann Giannuzzi and Stacy Kielb; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vida MacDonald and Myrtle LaBelle; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold MacDonald Sr.

Friends may call noon until the time of the service 1 p.m. Saturday at Dunn Funeral Home with the Rev. Patrice Hardy Goodwin officiating. Spring interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
