NORWAY – The good Lord called Patricia Lambert Bourgoine Rolfe home Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012. She was surrounded by family, friends and the caring staff at Stephens Memorial Hospital. Patricia was born April 19, 1939, in Norway, to Ruth and Franklin Lambert.
She attended schools and graduated from Norway High School. She later attended school at Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute, where she received an associate degree as a licensed practical nurse. Patricia married Charlie J. Bourgoine, May 3, 1958, in Hartford, Conn. After having their first child, Daniel, they moved to Aroostook County to reside with her husband’s family. They went on to have four children all together. Patricia was a room mother and Brownie Troop leader. She picked potatoes during harvest season and used this money for Christmas presents. After Charlie died in 1977 she returned to her hometown of Norway and then married Rodney T. Rolfe. Rodney had first met Patricia in high school and was introduced by Rodney’s sister, Diana Rolfe. Patricia went on to work in various capacities. She co-owned Rolfe’s footwear and was a nurse at Oxford Hills Junior High School and Market Square Nursing Care. Later on she was fortunate enough to work at Good Neighbors where she greatly enjoyed the camaraderie of both co-workers and clients. Patricia was a communicant of St. Louis Parish, Limestone, and St. Catherine’s of Sienna, Norway. She was also a member of Daughters of Isabella. Patricia loved time at “camp” in South Addison with Rodney and the dogs, and trips to Florida, California and Italy.
She is survived by her husband, Rodney Rolfe of Norway; son, Daniel Bourgoine of Fort Fairfield and his fiancee, Lori Hodsdon; daughter, Denise Whitehead of Gorham and husband, Dr. Charles Whitehead; daughter, Julie Anderson of Portland and her husband, Daniel Anderson; and daughter, Renee Serio of Portland and husband, Victor Serio. Patricia is sadly missed by her eight grandchildren, Sophia Anderson, Lucia Anderson, Kathryn Whitehead, River Bourgoine, Owen Whitehead, Renata Serio, Luca Serio and Roman Anderson. Patricia is also survived by a brother, John Lambert and his wife, Carol; many nieces and nephews. Her “puppies,” Molly and Ladybug, will also miss being spoiled by her. Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Charlie Bourgoine; and sister, Phyllis Currier.
