Charles ‘Charlie’ LeClair Sr.


VEAZIE – Charles “Charlie” LeClair Sr., 73, died Dec. 2, 2012 at a Bangor hospital. He was born Feb. 10, 1939, in Orono, the son of Irving J. and Pauline (Randall) LeClair.
Charles served in the U.S Army Reserve and was Honorably Discharged in 1963. He worked at the Striar’s Textile Mill, Orono, for many years, Shaw & Tenney, Orono, and most recently at Shop-n-Save, Bangor. Charlie was an avid New York Giants fan. He enjoyed spending time roller-skating, fishing, and playing pool in his younger days. In his later years, Charlie enjoyed Wii bowling and playing card games. Charles loved eating his Twinkies and Devil Dogs.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a granddaughter, Linda Marie Taylor; his older brother, Robert “Bobby” LeClair; three brothers-in-law, Alonzo, Charles and Carroll Morris. Charles is survived by his wife of 46 years, Alice D. (Morris) LeClair; five children, Charles “Chuck” LeClair Jr., Frederick Taylor Jr. and his wife, Sue, Kenneth Taylor, Mary A. Carter and her husband, Homer, Sherry White and her husband, Tom; six grandchildren, April (Taylor) Jarvais and her husband, Nick, Richard and Katherine Gilmore, Chip Frey, Dan Frey and his wife, Shannon, and Brandy White; two brothers, Paul LeClair, Raymond LeClair and his wife, Carole; sister, Betty Gallant; two brothers-in-law, Stuart Morris and his significant other, Linda, Jerry Morris and his wife, Judy; many other relatives and friends.
Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where military honors will be held at 3 p.m. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments immediately after the visitation at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
