PRINCETON – PRINCETON – Edward C. Diffin died Nov. 27, 2012 at a Bangor health care facility. He was born May 23, 1918, in Robbinston, the son of Edward and Pearl (Jollatta) Diffin.
He came to Princeton in the late 30’s to build roads for the CCC. He started working as a truck driver for Allie Nason’s sawmill and remained there through several owners until he retired as superintendent of the mill 40 years later. He was a longtime member of Princeton Congregational Church, Lewys Island Lodge and the Princeton Rod and Gun Club.
He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy (Murphy) Diffin. He is survived by two sons, Terry and wife, Kathy, of Princeton, Ralph and wife, Sandy, of Arizona; and one daughter, Bonnie Milligan and husband, Roger, of Princeton; grandchildren, Sean Milligan and wife, Sandra, Angela Hanson and husband, Joe, Jill Diffin, Terry Jr., Chad and Micah Diffin, Deanna Anderson and Amanda Woodruff.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Princeton Congregational Church with Pastors Dana Kadey and Raymond Morse officiating. Those who wish may donate in his memory to Princeton Congregational Church Steeple Fund.
