AUGUSTA, Maine — A man with his face painted walked into the CVS Pharmacy on Capitol Street at about 11 a.m. Saturday and robbed the store of painkillers, Augusta police Lt. Chris Massey said.
“There was no weapon displayed but there was some sort of threat made,” the lieutenant said. “He was given some pain meds and a K-9 was used to track him … to a parking lot, where we believe he got into a vehicle.”
The Augusta Police Department asked for assistance from Maine State Police, who sent a K-9 unit to help search for the suspect.
“He’s described as about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, white, wearing a black sweatshirt, black hat, face paint and [camouflage] gloves,” Massey said.
The description of the face painting was not available.
Two detectives have been assigned to the case and other officers were searching for the robber, the lieutenant said.
Those with information about the investigation are asked to call the Augusta Police Department at 626-2370.

These events are becoming so common place at pharmacies and banks. I went into a bank the other day wearing my sunglasses s it was a very bright day (no gloves,hat or face paint) and was immediately asked to loose the shades. I complied but thought it was a bit of a stretch.
There is a BIT more to it than that. But some get the point.

I’d like more information on this “face painted” deal. That can mean a lot of things. Had he just smeared his face with shoe polish like those guys who think they’re Rambo, or was he done up like a member of Kiss, and if so, which one? (My money’s on Ace; Gene’s makeup design is too obvious, Peter’s is too elaborate to put on in the throes of opiate withdrawal, and Paul’s is too silly.)

Big money can be made by selling oxycontin. If proven that the robbers are selling, those caught and convicted should receive the maximum sentence. This is another reason to stop the addiction to pain killers by tracking the prescriptions to individuals.
