Richard D. ‘Dickie’ Stanley

EAST MILLINOCKET – Richard D. “Dickie” Stanley, 78, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 at a Bangor health care facility. Dickie was born Nov. 9, 1933, in Medway, son of Earl and Mary (Slocum) Stanley.

He enjoyed watching old Western movies on television, and spending time at his camp at Scootic Lake with his wife, MaryEllen, who predeceased him in November of 2011

He is survived by two children, Rick Stanley and his wife, Jill, and Carrie Porter and her husband, Rodney, all of East Millinocket; five grandchildren, Honesty and her companion, Keith, A.J. Wills and his wife, Nicole, Trapper White and his wife, Michelle, Ricky Stanley, and Tayla Stanley and companion, Matt; seven great-grandchildren, Zachary, Hanneen, Nayla, Cadin, Maddox, Ashton and Oliver; a sister, Ruth Ann Tile and her husband, Robert, of Lakeland, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside committal services for Dickie and MaryEllen will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at East Millinocket Cemetery with Deacon Danny Watson officiating. Their daughter, Tammy Wills, will be laid to rest with them at that time. Gifts in memory of Dickie may be sent to Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter, 383 US Route One, Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, East Millinocket.
