Teresa Margaret Wall Smith Cormier

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa., and BANGOR – Teresa Margaret Wall Smith Cormier, passed into eternal life Oct. 19, 2012, at Williamsport Home. Teresa was born March 22, 1926, daughter of the late William J. Wall and Mary Ann McTigue.

She graduated from Bangor High School and attended Beal Business College, Bangor. Shortly thereafter she married and started her family. Teresa was of Christian faith and believed in the God almighty. She was a member of Eastern Star, and a long-standing member of Ladies Auxiliary of Elks, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Waltham, Mass. Teresa always enjoyed her family. Back in the day, she enjoyed playing bingo, reading, playing cards and camping.

She was predeceased by her first husband, John E. Smith of Maine; second husband, Joseph Gerald Cormier of Waltham, Mass.; son, Thomas Milton Smith of Richmond; two sisters, Francis and Cecilia; and brother, John. She is survived by her daughter, Linda M. O’Brien and Tim of Carlisle, Pa.; three sons, John D. Smith and Crystal of Williamsport, Pa., Mark E. Smith and Didi of Weston, Mass., and Gary S. Smith of Seattle; daughter-in-law, Nancie B. Smith of Richmond; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, in memory of Teresa Cormier, 322 Eighth Ave., Seventh Floor, New York, NY 10001. Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, Pa., is in charge of arrangements.
