OLD TOWN – Loretta M. Currier, 88, died peacefully Oct. 22, 2012, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born May 15, 1924, in Old Town, a daughter of William and Amelia (Gagnon) Durette.
She was a gentle soul and enjoyed crossword puzzles, bingo, Scrabble and spending time with her family.
She is survived by a special friend, Marcia Lewis of Bangor; niece, Kathaleen Duque and partner, Kathy Smith, of Bradley; dear friend, Rita Currier of Old Town; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul; and seven siblings. The family wishes to thank Maine Veterans Home, D Unit, for the wonderful and compassionate care given to Loretta during the last five years.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Parish of the Resurrection, Holy Family Church, 429 Main St., Old Town. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
