Clifton Earl Roberts

DOVER-FOXCROFT – Clifton Earl Roberts, 81, passed away Oct. 19, 2012, at Mayo Regional Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft. He was born Aug. 3, 1931, in Dover-Foxcroft, son of the late Virgil and Helen (Drinkwater) Roberts.

Clifton graduated from Foxcroft Academy before serving our country. After serving with the U.S. Army, he had worked at Dexter Shoe Co. for many years. He was a member of East Dover Grange and Chadbourne Merrill Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 29.

Clifton is survived by his sister, Donnice Lord of Dover-Foxcroft; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Lewis, Harold and Herbert Roberts; and a sister, Marilyn Stubbs.

Friends are invited to call 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, with the Rev. Chad Poland officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at East Dover Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft. After the service friends and family are invited to share fellowship and stories at the Gerrish-Warren Center at Thayer Parkway, Dover-Foxcroft.
