Sidney vehicle fire shuts down I-95 southbound lanes

Traffic was stopped along southbound Interstate 95 in Sidney on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012. Emergency crews battled flames of a burning car at about 3:30 p.m. After the fire was put out, traffic was allowed to flow again at about 4 p.m.

SIDNEY, Maine — A vehicle fire on Interstate 95 in Sidney shut down the southbound lanes Thursday afternoon, a state police dispatcher confirmed.

Both traveling lanes were closed shortly after 3:30 p.m. Traffic was moving again shortly before 4 p.m.
