HOWLAND – Norman Arthur Batchelder, 72, passed away Sept. 7, 2012, at Cummings Health Care Facility, Howland. He was born Aug. 15, 1940, in Howland, the son of Irvin and F. Ethel (Berry) Batchelder.
Norman worked for Great Northern Paper Co., Inc. for 40 years and served in the Air National Guard for six years. He loved music, traveling and spending time with family.
He is survived by two sons, Bryan Batchelder and his wife, Sheila, of Levant and Rusty Batchelder and his wife, Tina, of Enfield; one daughter, Sharon Wallace and her husband, Ronald Jr., of Howland; two brothers, Ronald Batchelder and his wife, Linda, of Lincoln and Jerry Batchelder and his wife, Lois, of Hebron, Conn.; two sisters, Muriel Curtis of Waterville and Evelyn Rideout and her husband, Virgil Jr., of Lincoln; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Batchelder of Hunterville, N.C.; six grandchildren, Anthony, Eric, Dakota, Joshua, Cayte and Amanda; a special friend, Betty Ireland; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah Lynn; a sister, Phyllis; two brothers, James and Irvin Batchelder; and one special granddaughter, Callie Brown.
Friends may call 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 3 p.m. with the Rev. Jack Hyland officiating.
