STRONG, Maine — A Franklin County detective was driving toward Farmington on Route 4 when he noticed a man crossing the street toward an old farmhouse.
Detective David St. Laurent turned his cruiser around and when he arrived back where he had seen the man cross the street, he saw a man going through a window into the farmhouse, Lt. Niles Yeaton said.
St. Laurent called for back up and Detective Tom White and Yeaton responded. They entered the residence with guns drawn and took Chad W. Lockrow, 37, with a last known address of 39 Boylston St. in Boston into custody with no resistance, Yeaton said.
Lockrow was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief and taken to Franklin County jail in Farmington, he said.
His bail was set at $5,000 cash.
Deputies believe that Lockrow may have gone into the house previously because there was a backpack in there that St. Laurent didn’t see him carrying when he crossed the road, Yeaton said.
