MILO – Gardner E. Osgood, 95, passed away peacefully July 11, 2012, with his wife of 71 years by his side. He was born Sept. 19, 1916, in LaGrange, son of Willis I. and Blanche (Clement) Osgood.
He resided in Milo and worked as assistant foreman for American Thread Co. He was a handyman who could build and fix anything. He served Milo United Baptist Church for many years, and was a loving, fun and patient husband, father and grandfather.
Gardener is survived by his wife, Katherine (Allen) Osgood; son, Gardner Anthony "Tony" Osgood and wife, Diane; daughter, Sylvia (Osgood) Black; four grandchildren, Julie Ferris and husband, Ray, Janet Chase and husband, Christopher, Bryan Osgood and wife, Kristy, and Eric Osgood and wife, Liz; and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at Milo United Baptist Church, with Pastor Phil McLaughlin officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery, Milo.
