WATERVILLE – Steve Brandon was found March 24, 2012. He was the first born to his parents, Ann and Erling Brandon, in 1950, in Lancaster, Pa., and spent the rest of his life pursuing his dreams.
His maternal grandmother gave him the moniker "dreamboat," and he took it to heart.
He led a life full of experiences he hoped would contribute to a better world. He was an idealist who worked at achieving his goals. He loved hiking, music, drumming, contra dancing and smart women. It’s possible he had the largest compact disc music collection in the state of Maine. He was a star athlete in high school, hiked the Appalachian Trail, and became a registered nurse and a certified massage therapist. After living and traveling to many places he settled in Maine, because, as he would say, "Maine kept calling him back." The natural world was his universe. Just before his death, Steve was building the physical manifestation of his dream in Thorndike.
Steve was predeceased by his father, Erling, in 1995. He is survived by his mother, Ann Brandon of Steuben; sister, Susan Brandon of Steuben; brother, Jon and his wife, Linda Coit, of Bath; brother, Fred and his wife, Katie, of Andover, Mass.; sister, Sarah Brandon and her husband, Jeff Beckley, of Steuben; two nieces and a nephew, Christina, Anna and Michael Brandon of Andover, Mass.
