Outlook: The Black Bears will try to halt a seven-game postseason losing streak. UMaine’s last tourney win came in the 2005 quarterfinals. The Bears have a tough draw in a big, strong, cohesive Vermont squad that has won 11 of its last 12, the only blemish being a shocking Feb. 21 loss at Binghamton. The Bears have to play stellar defense and play well together against the Catamounts, who know how to get the ball into the paint and also have excellent 3-point shooters. UMaine must rebound hard, take care of the ball and control the tempo, not allowing UVM to get into transition or to the foul line, where they shot .777 in league games.
