Outlook: The Black Bears face a quick, 16-hour turnaround and must face league regular-season champion BU. UMaine is on a two-game win streak after Thursday night’s 49-43 first-round win over Stony Brook. The Terriers have won two in a row and 15 of their last 16. They feature two-time AE Player of the Year Alford and fellow first-team pick Moran and third-teamer and all-defensive choice Agboola. The Bears must contest shots against the league’s most prolific offense (62.4 ppg) and restrictive defense. UMaine must limit turnovers, avoid foul trouble and execute crisply to have a shot at knocking off the Terriers.
