FRENCHVILLE – Emelia Dufour, 89, died peacefully Feb. 15, 2012, surrounded by her family at a Madawaska health facility. She was born April 30, 1922, in St. David, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Dufour) Lagasse.

She was a member of Ladies of St. Anne, Frenchville, for 25 years.

She is survived by six daughters and their husbands, Theresa and Philip Plourde of Southington, Conn., Marilyn and Dalton Blais of Dover-Foxcroft, Pauline and Reginald of St. Agatha, Diane and George Dionne of Grand Isle, Carol and Robert of St. Agatha and Linda and Roland of St. Agatha; seven sons and their wives, Fernand and Rinette of Farmington, Conn., Wilfred and Roger, both of Frenchville, Normand of Auburn, Ronald and Theresa of Terryville, Conn., Gary of West Hartford, Conn., and Vernon of Stafford Springs, Conn.; 27 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Armand and his wife, Venette Lagasse, of Madawaska; and four sisters, Joan and Gerald, Rena and Gerard, and Rose Dionne, all of Madawaska, and Cecile and Gerard of St. Basile, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Wallace; and one son, Roland.

Friends and relatives may call 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Michaud Funeral Home, St. Agatha. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Luce Catholic Church with the Rev. Dave Raymond officiating. Burial will be in the spring at St. Luce Cemetery.
