BREWER, Maine — Two Old Town men were arrested Wednesday in connection with a rash of car burglaries overnight in Brewer, according to police.

Detective Sgt. Jay Munson said Brewer police had investigated “approximately 20 car burglaries” that occurred in the North Brewer area between 2 and 8:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Brewer police Officer Nelson Feero, who led the investigation, noticed fresh tracks the burglars had left in the snow, going from driveway to driveway, according to Munson.

The trail eventually led to a residence on North Main Street, and the suspects were identified as Josh Albert, 25, and Andrew Grindle, 20, both of Old Town.

Munson said the two men had stolen iPods and cash from the vehicles, all of which were unlocked.

Both men were arrested and charged with Class C theft. They also were charged with Class B burglary because they entered one homeowner’s garage, Munson said.

Albert and Grindle both have prior theft convictions on their records, according to Munson.

The suspects were released after being charged, the sergeant said. None of the burglarized vehicles had damage, and Munson is advising all Brewer residents to keep their vehicles locked.

  1. According to Andrew Grindle’s facebook he just got out of doing a long term in prison.  “Works at Anyone who will hire me. Went to Dropout”

      1. He did at least a year.  You can follow the timeline on his page with his friends commenting on when he gets out.  The last one was Sunday asking if he was out yet and to tell him to stay out of jail.  He should have listened.

        1. All about some idiotic Gangsta badge. Wish they could figure out they’re impressing the wrong people.

Beyonce ain’t comin’ to bail you out buddy.

          1. sounds to me…..he might have had a fella in jail that he wasn’t ready to leave just yet……Bubba wanted him back!!!!

    1. It couldn’t have been that long of a sentence, he is only 20. I guess it wasn’t long enough though! They let them go so they will have time to do it a few more times to raise their bail money.

  2. With 20 burglaries I’m surprised nobody caught them and got some rough justice.  You start messing with someone’s property you better be ready to meet your maker.
