Bowdoin men rally to edge UMaine-Farmington

BRUNSWICK — The Bowdoin Polar Bears rallied from a 14-point deficit with nine minutes remaining to defeat the University of Maine-Farmington 84-79 in men’s basketball action Wednesday night.

Wyatt Littles came off the bench to score 17 points, leading five Polar Bears in double figures.

Will Hanley added 13 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and three blocks; Andrew Madlinger and Ryan O’Connell posted 12 points each and Brian Hurley had 10 points for Bowdoin (10-4).

Kevin Leary scored a game-high 18 points for the Beavers (7-6), Ben Johnson registered 16 points and 11 rebounds, Pet Sumner had 16 points and Andrew Dickey 11.

At South Portland, Carolyn Bess led a balanced scoring attack for Eastern Maine Community College with eight points in the win over Southern Maine Community College.

Emma Johnson and Christine Davis each scored six points for the Golden Eagles of Bangor.

Jatelyn Benson led SMCC with 11 points.
