ORLAND – Sarah Worcester, 43, died peacefully Jan. 3, 2012, at a Bangor health care facility feeling loved and cherished. She was born Feb. 7, 1968, in Hyannis, Mass., the daughter of William B. and Betsy A. (Pond) Tinney.
Sarah graduated from Bucksport High School, class of 1986. After graduation she continued to work for her parents at Duffy’s in East Orland. She continued to personify the Tinney Family tradition. Sarah’s friendliness and boisterousness made her a well-known “icon” to Duffy’s customers as they watched her grow from a child to a woman.
In addition to her mother, Sarah was predeceased by her brother, Glen. She was survived by her son, Gavin Dwayne Worcester; her father, Bill Tinney of Bradenton, Fla.; sister, Linda (Tinney) Prada and her husband, Allan; a brother, Robert Tinney, all of Orland; a sister, Mart‚ Ranzoni of Lamoine; four nephews, Jeremy and Jason Prada, Todd and Adam Tinney; a niece, April Joy and her husband, Patrick; as well as a great-niece and great-nephew, Leah and Logan.
There will be a benefit dinner 5 p.m. Jan. 28 at Bucksport Rod and Gun Club to raise money for final expenses.
