OLIVE (BOYER) DURAN

KENSINGTON, Conn. – Olive (Boyer) Duran, 85, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, at Ledgecrest Healthcare, Kensington, Conn. Born in Charleston, daughter of the late Walter and Ivy (Wotton) Boyer, she had been a Berlin-Kensington, Conn., resident since 1951.

Olive was employed at D&L Stores, New Britain, Conn., and Meriden, Conn., for 20 years, retiring in 1991.

Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Joseph and her husband, James, of New Britain, Conn.; a son, Brian Duran and his wife, Frances, of McSarland, Wis.; a sister-in-law, Kathleen "Kay" Boyer of Milo; four grandchildren, James Joseph Jr., Aimee Joseph, Ashley Duran and Angelina DiModica; three great-grandchildren, Mason, Haley and Aleya; two half sisters, Carolyn Rockwell and Priscilla Adams; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers, Harold, Merle and Stanley Boyer; and a sister, Marion (Boyer) King.

A funeral service was conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. Burial will be in the spring in the family lot at Corinthian Cemetery.
