BANGOR, Maine — A local woman who was behind the wheel without a driver’s license apparently hit a car Friday morning at the junction of Fourteenth Street and Union Street and then took off before police arrived, Bangor police Lt. Steve Hunt said Saturday.

“The person didn’t want to stay but the woman [driving the second car] got the license plate,” the lieutenant said. “It was a sideswipe. No one was hurt.”

Alissa Libby, 31, was found and charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident and driving without a license, Hunt said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
