Each year the Maine Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program identifies individuals across Maine who are direct-care workers exhibiting excellence in their field. The 2011 Excellence in Long-Term Care Award was presented to 21 people at the Blaine House in Augusta. One of Phillips-Strickland House’s direct-care workers, Norma Atherton, was a recipient. Winners were chosen from all areas of long-term care. At right is Atherton with Maine first lady Ann LePage.
