In July and August Waterfall Arts has a full schedule of art classes for adults, teens and kids at their Belfast and Montville locations. Space is still available as well as partial scholarships for those in need.
Classes in Belfast beginning Monday, July 18, are Puppet Theater, featuring the story “The Seven Ravens,” with Nancy Tyndall, for ages 5 to 8, and Pottery-Functional Clay Projects and Printmaking: From Cards to T’s, with Russell Kahn, for ages 8 to 12. Wes Reddick leads a workshop in Shoebox Kinetics on four consecutive Wednesday evenings, beginning July 20, for age 12 through adult.
Tucker Daniels returns with Music and Mayhem Again! for ages 5 to 7 Monday through Thursday, July 25-28, in Belfast and assemblage artist Wally Warren will lead a Found Object Workshop in Montville on Saturday and Sunday, July 30-31, for ages 12 through adult.
Montville classes in August include another weeklong round of Natural Wizardry, with Rachel Littlefield, for ages 5 to 8, from 10 a.m. to noon, and Intro to Torchwork: Glass Beads and Sculpture, with Cate Lamb, for ages 12 and up, from 9 a.m. to noon. On Saturday, Aug. 6, Laura Jaquays will hold the second annual Art HOPE creativity workshop for adults. The Art HOPE workshop is free with preregistration.
On Aug. 8, glass artist Marta Bernbaum returns to Waterfall Arts Montville with a weeklong class in Torchwork for all skill levels, ages 12 and up. Architect Richard Tremaglio will lead a round-table discussion in the Art of Resourceful Building on Thursday, Aug. 11, in Belfast. Photographer Anna Strickland brings Cyanotype Photogramming for Everyone, ages 6 through adult, to Montville noon-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13. Photograms are made without cameras, using light-sensitive paper, objects and plant matter to make images. Artist Emily Brown, whose work will be featured in a one-person exhibit at Waterfall Arts’ Clifford Gallery in August, will lead a two-day workshop, Drawing in Black and White, on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 20-21, in Montville.
