Belfast students to stage British comedy

BELFAST — The Belfast Area High School Footlights Players will present the three-act British comedy “Noises Off” at 7 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, May 26-28; 7 p.m. Friday-Saturday, June 3-4; and 3 p.m. Sunday, May 29, at the high school gymnasium.

The play is directed by Meg Nickerson.

Cast members are Nathan Howard as Lloyd Dallas, the British director of the play “Nothing On;” Clare Olson as Dotty Otley, late middle-aged actress and grand dame of the stage; Tyler Johnstone as Garry Legeune, easily fired-up stuttering actor; Dominic Williams as Frederick Fellows, an actor with a serious fear of violence and blood; Kaylee Pickering as Belinda Blair, a cheerful, sensible and reliable actress; Aubrey Hersom as Poppy Norton-Taylor, emotional and overly sensitive assistant stage manager; Kaleb Hills as Selsdon Mowbray, an elderly alcoholic British actor who hides his bottles on stage; Taylor Peabody as Timothy Allgood, an overworked stage manager; and Tierra Knight as Brooke Ashton, a young, inexperienced and ditsy actress from London.

The play’s two-level revolving set was designed and built by Gary Grant.

Tickets, available at the door, are $8, $5 students and seniors. On opening night, Thursday, May 26, tickets will be half price for everyone.
