Brewer muzzles Bulldogs in ‘B’ hockey

WINSLOW — The top-seeded Brewer Witches dominated from the outset of Saturday night’s Eastern Maine Class B hockey semifinal, striking for three goals in the first period and coasting to an 8-0 victory over No. 4 Lawrence of Fairfield.

Senior captain Lucas Lamond and sophomore forward Kyle Alexander each scored three goals to lead the offense for the 18-0-1 Witches, who meet No. 2 seed Houlton-Hodgdon for the East championship Tuesday in a 7 p.m. title game at Alfond Arena in Orono.

Lamond had two assists and Alexander added one. The other goals came from Jacob Chapman and Spencer Valley. Adam Cossette made nine saves on nine shots.

Brad MacKenzie made 33 saves on 41 shots for the 8-10-2 Bulldogs.
