BANGOR – Mary L. Kane, 83, died Jan. 16, 2011, surrounded by loved ones at a Bangor nursing center. She was born April 13, 1927, in Bangor, the daughter of Ralph E. and Olive E. (Hammond) Libbey. Mary worked in retail at WT Grants for many years, and also worked as a waitress. She was a longtime member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, No. 3177, Brewer, and enjoyed playing cards and dancing. Surviving are four children, Deborah George, Robert Kane, Mary Judy Thibeault and Michele Kane, all of Bangor; one stepchild, Connie Frye and her husband, Daryl, of Eddington; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Carl and Ralph Libbey. A time of fellowship and celebration of Mary’s life will be held 1:30-5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, at 80 Sunset Ave., Apt. 602, Bangor. A private burial at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor, will be in the spring. Arrangements by Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, Brewer and Bangor.
