USM men gain split in holiday tourney

WASHINGTON — Corteze Isaac scored a game-high 24 points to lead the University of Southern Maine men’s basketball team by Rivier College 70-62 in the first round of the Greenbelt Classic Saturday.

Don Poitras paced Rivier with 12 points while Tom Poitras added 10.

On Sunday, Catholic University edged USM 79-77 to win the tourney title.
